Radio Gama MM changed its name to Radio Ekspres in April 2006. The station also changed its programming scheme by focusing on the target audience aged between 30 and 59. This target audience is much older than Gama MM's previous target audience.

Radio Goldi began broadcasting on a new frequency (106.2 MHz), 24 hrs a day on 7 July 2006. Previously it had a time share agreement with Radio RAP Polzela (now Radio Tempo) and broadcast on 89.1 MHz.

Radio Ton stopped broadcasting and was replaced by Radio Radio.

Radio Slovenia International introduced two new frequencies (96.7 and 107.7 MHz) to extend its coverage to the towns of Nova Gorica and Postojna, the Vipavska dolina valley and the Ljubljana – Koper section of the A1 motorway.

Radio Veseljak started broadcasting two different programmes on its two frequencies, giving its audience the possibility to choose between radio Veseljak Ljubljana and radio Veseljak Dolenjska. Ads can be placed for both or each of the two programmes. The programme of radio Veseljak Dolenjska is also broadcast by radio Sevnica.

A new commercial broadcaster, Radio Europa 05 (87.6 MHz), was launched on 20 January 2007. The station informs audience in central Slovenia about the activities and the role of the European Union and provides information about the different nations in the bloc.

The Maribor-based Radio 1 came on air for the first time on 10 February 2006 on 107.9 MHz. On 11 April 2007, a new Radio 1 began broadcasting on frequencies of Radio Šport (107.9 MHz) and Poslovni val (88.4 MHz). It was joined on 18 April by Radio Val, Radio Morje and Radio Portorož, three stations in the Primorska region, Radio Max from the Dolenjska region and Radio 1 in Maribor and Velenje.
Radio 1 is part of the Infonet broadcasting network and broadcasts the same entertainment and national news on all its radios, while regional news are produced separately (you can opt for regional or national ad campaigns).
