The Europlakat company took over Metropolis Media in October 2006, making the latter its subsidiary. Europlakat also carried out a consolidation of its product portfolio in the last quarter of 2006 to form a clear and transparent product strategy which gave individual carriers of advertising specific geographic and contextual guidelines in communicating with the target audiences. Europlakat d.o.o. has been marketing the products of both companies since 1 February 2007 and uses the Metropolis brand for its network ob 4x3m billboards.

The company’s key new launch for 2007 was a new premium-class product in Ljubljana – a network of rotating billboards known as Rolling Boards. Even though the product has been in use for some time under various brands (Rollback Light, Premium Roll), the changes are much deeper than just the name.
The new Rolling Boards can be used in the network of all existing locations of Metropolis Media and Europlakat in Ljubljana. These locations were joined in ad campaigns by dynamic surfaces that had been transformed from the previous static ones known as Metrolight. The resulting compact networks can act independently to support the marketing and communication activities of individual clients in the city. These surfaces are also available to clients who want to reinforce their national campaign by using an urban, lit and dynamic large-format medium.

In the second half of 2007 Europlakat's customers will be offered free of charge the results of a study on Outdoor Media Exposure (OMEX) for each campaign and its target audience (source: Europlakat d.o.o.).

A new outdoor advertising company, Outdoor Akzent d.o.o., began operations in Slovenia in the beginning of 2006. Renamed EPAMEDIA d.o.o. in early March 2007, the company is a subsidiary of EPAMEDIA, an Austrian company specialised in outdoor advertising which brings together 40 companies in 12 countries of Central and Eastern Europe.

In January 2006, EPAMEDIA began erecting its first 350 billboards in Slovenia. Their number is to increase to 700 by the end of the year. EPAMEDIA currently operates 520 billboards in nearly all Slovenian regions. It put up its billboards in Koper, Izola, Slovenj Gradec, Novo mesto and Jesenice in February 2007. In March the network was extended to Murska Sobota, Divača, Ajdovščina, Nova Gorica and Zagorje. The company is also expanding its network of billboards in Ljubljana and Maribor on an ongoing basis. On 1 May 2007, EPAMEDIA acquired the Premena advertising agency from Celje, becoming the exclusive provider of 4x3 billboards to add to the standard 5.04x2.38m format (source: http://www.epamedia.si).
